hey dudes~ our dear SL had to go see doc cos of her eyes.. sooo here i am to tell u guys...HOW TO PRACTICE.
today mr lim showed us this video. and this famours trumpeter Wynton taught us 12 methods on how u can practice.
the wynton method
1. seek help.
2. make a schedule-organise urself. [ it could be individual/sectional time ]
3. set goals to chart development [ eg.by this week..i wana finish learning etc.. ]
4. concentrate! [ put urself into the music.u wil realize u enjoy it ]
5. RELAX and practice slowly [ this helps when it comes to running notes ]
6. take time and practice the parts u are nt familiar with.
7. play EVERYTHING in maximum expression. [ regardless if it's long notes..u can still make it sound good ]
8. don't be too hard NOR easy on yourself. [ it isnt the end of the world if u make a mistake.learn from it. BUT dun get lazy too 8D ]
9. Don't show off yourself but show off your music.
10. think for yourself, find your own way. [ dun be a ROBOT..go and find ways to help urself improve ]
11. be optimistic (:
12. always look for connections to other things.
these are not the 12 methods.. but extra advice ;D
- tone in your identity; Personality in sound [ put urself into the music..ur personality etc..let music BE YOU ]
- audiate your sound before playing.
- get the TONE right first then u tune to whoever.
