(n u know PEIRCE SEC is nt lyk opposite to us n transport nt provided).. Wear ur sch uniform..

well today hawaii five o movements... i seriously jus wana say
SPEAK UP. seriously.chap into me and yee xin conver i dun care..jus speak up and spill ideas to us.
but i have to say good job on learning e movements fast -applause-

still when me and danfeng stood there wif mr lim he points out alot of stuff.

main thing : u guys aint moving in right time.. e way u guys walk..ur eyes look infront .. unsure of movements mayb

HELLO people!

well, this is my first post for clarinetists blog :D um-um, i dont quite know what is e purpose for me to write actually. FIRSTLY, its still not to late to say our concert is a SUCCESS. SECONDLY, i dont quite understand what yee xin wrote for e last post, and we need to squeeze our BRAINS out for hawaii five O movements AGAIN?! for what purpose? and yea, about what happened on that day, i also want to KEPO2. do tell me when we meet up. hee-hee :D THIRDLY, when is our postponed outing?

for our seniors, thanks for coming back and help out for e concert. and a BIG-BIG sorry if we did disappoint you all whether its intentional or unintentional. i hope you all forgive our mistakes.

LASTLY, we all need to improve our section's potential on playing to be a better clarinet section. YAY! wow, since when am i so convincing like this? nevermind, because im looking forward to it. and make e conductors, teachers, alumni and band proud of what we improved in e future. and-and we need to show good examples for our next sec one batch. (hope we will get some)

2 more days to concert. And after this concert, It would be the last time Yi Zhen, William and I will be seeing all of you. So don't disappoint us, put up a good show. Remember to move fast during the changing of pieces, when to bring up and rest yr instruments, the proper way to sit. And for Hawaii five O, do the actions well and i'm sure we'll look good. If you're unsure, look at mefline as a role model. hahas. And It's been great working with all of you.

Please rest well and drink lots of water.

wahhhh band camp over liao shiok boh? hahs

but of course.. u guys shld have learn something frm it.
esp sectionals. yea now i tink jus by seeing this word "sectional" u guys go ughhhhh

well.and it's all cos of TUNING. so frustrating right?
it wouldnt be if wayyy before this everyone bother to listen..

too late to say anythin already . now the onli thing u guys can do.. is to STOP playing whatever note when u guys are out of tune wif e person beside u and continue onwards during a piece..
but of cos u TRY to TUNE b4 giving up.

hey dudes~ our dear SL had to go see doc cos of her eyes.. sooo here i am to tell u guys...

HOW TO PRACTICE.

today mr lim showed us this video. and this famours trumpeter Wynton taught us 12 methods on how u can practice.

the wynton method

1. seek help.

2. make a schedule-organise urself. [ it could be individual/sectional time ]

3. set goals to chart development [ eg.by this week..i wana finish learning etc.. ]

4. concentrate! [ put urself into the music.u wil realize u enjoy it ]

5. RELAX and practice slowly [ this helps when it comes to running notes ]

6. take time and practice the parts u are nt familiar with.

7. play EVERYTHING in maximum expression. [ regardless if it's long notes..u can still make it sound good ]

8. don't be too hard NOR easy on yourself. [ it isnt the end of the world if u make a mistake.learn from it. BUT dun get lazy too 8D ]

9. Don't show off yourself but show off your music.

10. think for yourself, find your own way. [ dun be a ROBOT..go and find ways to help urself improve ]

11. be optimistic (:

12. always look for connections to other things.

these are not the 12 methods.. but extra advice ;D

- tone in your identity; Personality in sound [ put urself into the music..ur personality etc..let music BE YOU ]

- audiate your sound before playing.

- get the TONE right first then u tune to whoever.

HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO GET IN TUNE!!

clarinetists..

take note of ur high B, high A, and normal A..

these notes tend to go sharp..

so adjust when necessary..

we shld tune to arnd 0 to sharp 10..

and Desmond had alrdy taught us some figerings for some notes..

n so try to get use to it..

today we waste a lot of tyms juz to get 1 note in tune..

so hw do we solve?

1) listen to everyone sound and get in tune..

2) adjust sth.. *dun juz stand tere.. nth is goin to help staring*

Miss Loh had also ask we all to do a tuning charts right?

den use it wisely..

those charts is for us to take note on which note we tend to go sharp or flat..

IF EVERY1 PUT IN THEIR EFFORT.. EVERYTHING WOULD B EASY!.. =)

i know it look simple but is quite difficult to do..

but first thing first..

use ur ear wisely.. listen is de most important things to do..

- Bar 165 the third and fourth beats must on time.
- Bar 166 Melody, must play ff and every note on time.
- Bar 177 to 185, 219 to 226, 237 & 239 the quaver on time, staccato and accent must be heard. Must like snare drum sound. (every tym veri long)
- Bar 192 to 197 although semibreve but still must on time. (todae not on tym)
- Bar 227 to 230 Accent must be strong and cresc. must be heard.

- Bar 9 quaver must be short and must cresc.
